The Chic & Unique Market

Well, we just got done with the Chic & Unique Vintage Market and I have to say it was our best show to date! We had long lines of customers for pretty much most of the day and I think we must have been the busiest booth there! It was almost hard to keep up, so I’m glad we brought extra help that day!

Customers lining up at Flea Market Rescue’s booth to purchase items.

The Chic & Unique Vintage Market has two markets…one is in Brownstown, Michigan and the other one that they hold at the Packard Proving Grounds in Shelby Township, Michigan. We have always done the one at the Packard Proving Grounds in Shelby Township, because it’s just closer to us. They hold that one twice a year, one in early August and one in late October. Both of them are equally as good. For information on the show here is a link: https://chicanduniquemi.com/upcoming-markets/

We had so much stuff….it was crazy! We had collected a lot of it throughout the year, by going to garage sales, thrift store and flea markets. We worked throughout the year transforming old furniture and home decor pieces into beautiful new treasures with just a couple coats of paint.

Here’s me painting all the old stuff white with my sprayer.

Here they are all dry and ready for the show.

Friday, two days before the show…I had everything stacked in my living room that I had been working on for the show all ready to load. We needed to make three stops to load up, my house, my mom’s house and the storage unit that her and I have, in which we store all this stuff.

Things I finished up and were ready to get loaded into the UHaul for the show.

Saturday night, the night before the show…..of course, I would end up staying up all night just working on projects that I thought would only take me a few minutes to touch up or add a decal to….but, I shouldn’t be surprised…it happens every show! You always want to take everything you can…so if it takes all night….then it takes all night!

Everything came out great in the end and the show turned out to be absolutely FABULOUS!!! Like I said it was the best to date. Below are some of the photos of our booth.

This is a picture of just some of things in our booth.

This was the outside of our tent. We had an end spot, so we were able to put stuff outside for people to walk around and look at.

These were a pair of night stands that I refinished using Annie Sloan paint. They sold that day.

Here is one side of the first tent. We had two tents set up that day.

When we arrived at the show, the UHaul was absolutely packed with stuff but in the end it to see that much of our stuff had sold, made us feel that all our hard work had paid off! I want to say a special thank you to Chic & Unique for putting on such a WONDERFULLY organized show…you guys are the BEST!!!
